Anxiety Can Be Insidious And Clever

Sometimes, it is obvious how much of a toll anxiety takes on your life. Other times, anxiety seems helpful while making you miserable all the time.

Anxiety can be clear worrying about what might or could happen, or it can be a nagging feeling that things just aren’t good enough.

The same thoughts play over and over. You find yourself spinning and cycling with them. So much so that it makes it hard to focus on whatever you are doing.

If all those thoughts and feelings aren’t uncomfortable enough, it can make your whole body feel restless. Anxiety disorders can make your heart race, make your breathing change, and make your whole body tense.

Of all the ways anxiety can look, there is one thing that is certain: when it starts to get out of hand, life starts to get smaller.

  • “Overthinking”
  • Comparing yourself unfavorably to others

  • Things have to be “perfect,” and oftentimes barely get started

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need Anxiety Therapy?

You may notice a change in your emotional or physical well-being if you feel stressed or anxious. While stress and anxiety are a part of life, they don’t have to control you. If you are lonely or fear social gatherings, or lack motivation, therapy for anxiety can help. Some other symptoms include insomnia, constant worrying, lightheadedness, or trouble concentrating. I can help identify the root cause of your symptoms and support your healing journey with anxiety counseling.

Do You Offer Insurance?

I want to provide the best experience for my clients. Therefore, I do not work with insurance networks. If your insurance covers therapy for mental health conditions, I will gladly provide a superbill. You can submit this to your insurance company for reimbursement.

What Does Anxiety Therapy Look Like?

Many men wonder if they need talk therapy and what happens in these sessions. I provide flexible sessions. They encourage you to voice your concerns and get concrete solutions. You can learn awareness skills and management techniques by working with a therapist for your generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety. While it’s impossible to avoid anxiety altogether, you can learn healthy tools to manage it.

How Can Therapy Help Me Recover From Anxiety?

There is no specific method that works for everyone’s anxiety. I offer various techniques that work with your unique symptoms and goals. Many men find relief with eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). They also find it with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). We’ll work together to determine which method is best for you.
